With just one week left for the public to have their say on the post office closures, angry residents will be making their voices heard at a protest rally in Wood Green this Saturday.

The Haringey Federation of Residents Associations will demonstrate alongside concerned members of the community in a final push to show their disapproval of cuts to the vital' public service before the consultation closes on April 2.

"We all need to be determined to do our best to stand up for such services. Come and join us in the protest."

A spokesperson for the federation said: "Local post offices provide a vital service for communities, especially for the most vulnerable residents.

"We believe we are entitled to have a full range of local services and amenities of all kinds in our neighbourhoods: post offices, community centres, local shops, schools, GPs and dentists, libraries, parks etc. We all need to be determined to do our best to stand up for such services. Come and join us in the protest."

The federation hopes the show of solidarity will lobby the Government into reconsidering their decision.

The rally starts at 2pm outside Central Library, High Street, Wood Green.
