I find it very sad that Haringey Council is resorting to selling advertising space among our flowerbeds ("Shocking" response to flowerbeds', April 11).
In effect we will be educating children that everything can be subject to some form of
commercialisation - even our parks and open spaces.
When kids can't go to the park without being bombarded with commercial messages we've reached a really sorry state of affairs. If Haringey Labour was better at keeping the council's finances in order, it wouldn't have had to go down this route.

This initiative is absolute classic New Labour - they can work out the price of everything
but seem to know the value of nothing.
